Founding

The origins of SMAT Technical Services Ltd. dates back to 2000 when an entrepreneurial Soils Engineer established a Quality Assurance practice in Kampala, Uganda. The firm then known as Soils Materials Technical Services Ltd. rapidly expanded to become a leading provider of quality assurance services in Uganda.

Expansion by 2005

By 2005, from its deferential roots the company had expanded to a sizeable operation with a clear track record and reputation for delivering reliable, relevant and high quality technical services. During this period, Soils Materials Technical Services Ltd. went through one ownership and name change. However, throughout this period, the range and quality of services provided were maintained and indeed the core team of key professionals remained with the firm.

The Present

From 30th August 2005 the company became known as SMAT Technical Services Limited with operational bases in Kampala and Dar-es-Salaam. SMAT Technical Services Ltd. now has significant experience at delivering quality assurance services for the development of infrastructure. The company prides its self in being entrepreneurial and being able to respond quickly and appropriately to the urgent need of engineers during project implementation.
